We filmed this on the worst weather day of the year. It was my plan to make a video for my song The Weather (Don't Like It) at the first snowstorm opportunity. I was spontaneous and got my co-producer wife to film me trudging through the snow to the beat of the music (I had my song  playing on headphones hidden under my winter hood!). It was VERY cold (minus 30 degrees Celsius)  and miserable, so we worked fast. I'm quite proud that we did this on a budget of zero $s. It debuted on the big screen at the Edmonton International Film Festival in October 2015.
Our filmmaker friend, Dave Cunningham, offered to make a video of Thunder on the Tundra. He enlisted help from the Film and Video Arts Society-Alberta, and a crew of enthusiastic young filmmakers and friends helped to build sets and create all the special stuff you see in the final product. This was in the late 80s. Dave's video has a lot to do with the fact that our tune is still a local favourite – in fact, I would say the song and the video are probably more popular today than they were then!
