From the recording Quiet Pieces for Noisy Times
This song started with a single, repetitive descending chord progression of block 1-3-5 chords over an F note pedal tone. Everything else in the song was recording as overdubs with sounds that felt right. (We Shall Overdub!) There was no title to the song until I sat back and listened to what I had done ... and at that point I remembered the feeling of the time when my wife and I were at the lagoon in Central Park, NYC at dusk. We saw tiny sparkles of firefles ... dots of fading lights out of the corner of one eye and then the other. It was magical. The song became "Firefly Lagoon". On this piece I play keyboards, el guitar (Firebird), Bass VI, and "sliced shimmers".
